My Mindful Journey
I didn’t know I needed it. Until I did.
This week I want to share my mindfulness and meditation journey with you in the hopes that it will clarify how you can improve your own mental wellness and alleviate stress, while positively impacting workplace and personal relationships.
Here are the steps I took:
I knew nothing about mindfulness or meditation

I was introduced to the idea of self-care for my emotional and mental well-being
👇
I thought it sounded like something I could benefit from
👇
I looked around a bit to see what it was all about
👇
The more I looked, the more mindfulness resonated with me (although, I certainly didn’t call it that then)
👇
I researched and read all the books I could get my hands on
👇
I went to workshops around the country over many years and was introduced to many concepts (plenty of woowoo included) that supported my desire to find more balance in my life
👇
I tried meditation and hated it (I felt like a failure because my mind wouldn’t stop spinning round ‘n round)
👇
I went to a weekend workshop in town and was introduced to mindful journaling (the way I do it)
👇
I was skeptical but did it and found that I loved it
👇
I knew this was THE way for me to truly connect to my inner wisdom
👇
I used this form of journaling for years (and if I stopped doing it, I got myself into some kind of ‘drama’ because I wasn’t listening to my inner voice)

My journey kicked up a notch when I was searching for ways to recover from my emotionally abusive marriage
👇
I discovered Insight Timer and found that I loved meditation (I only had to find the right way for me)
👇
I finally got off my butt and wrote the book I had been thinking about for 17 years: Inner Affirmations
👇
So many people responded to my book and my meditations that I knew I had to do more.

I started writing blog posts, more books, online courses and challenges and finally launched the Mindful Life membership so I could continue to support others on their journey
